Putting the S into the spotlight: fostering human rights through sustainable investments

The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg (FDEF) and the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI) organize this online event “Putting the S into the spotlight: fostering human rights through sustainable investments”.

Addressing human rights is imperative in the transition towards sustainability. Climate change, economic turmoil and political instability, all of them have a direct impact on our societies and ultimately on human rights. Sustainable finance is pivotal at shifting financial flows towards activities that respect, protect and foster human rights.

However, how can the financial sector further advance on this matter, what is the current state of the art and how can it overcome the challenges it encounters? This online event, featuring Prof. Dorothée Baumann-Pauly as one of the speakers, will explore how human rights are integrated within sustainable finance, covering how to assess them, which tools are available at the moment, and how to collect data and measure impact.
